The City of Knoxville will host a free event at Chilhowee Park and Exposition Center on Friday, Dec. 9 from 6-9 p.m.
The event will feature a ceremonial lighting of the tree on the Chilhowee Park bandstand, live music and many free activities. SMG, international venue management company that manages Chilhowee Park & Exposition Center, will sponsor free photos with Santa Claus in front of the newly-lit tree.
Austin-East Culinary Arts Department will host a station where children and families can build gingerbread houses. The event will also feature train rides for all ages, holiday movies, hot cocoa by All Occasion Catering, face painting, and balloon animals. The Muse Knoxville and Home Depot will also host a special activity.
Sponsors of the event include WVLT Channel 8, WNOX 93.1, Knoxville News Sentinel, Home Depot, All Occasion Catering, Krispy Kreme, The Muse Knoxville, and SMG Knoxville.
Now through January 1, Chilhowee Park & Exposition Center has lighted trees and decorations floating on the lake and throughout the park for attendees of the holiday celebration and park visitors throughout the season to enjoy.
