Mary Bogert oversees all aspects of operations and booking at Chilhowee Park & Exposition Center.
Bogert began her management career in hotel hospitality in 1990 with Hyatt Hotels at its flagship Hyatt Regency Atlanta location and then held positions at Hyatt properties in Houston and Knoxville.
In 2001, she became Food & Beverage director of the Knoxville Convention Center and developed, opened and operated the in-house service. She became a district director in 2003, having oversight of six other facilities, and in 2007, was promoted to general manager of the Knoxville facility.
In 2015, Bogert also became general manager of the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum and Chilhowee Park & Exposition Center, two of the City of Knoxville’s largest venues.
Bogert is dedicated to the local community and has served as a board member from 2007 to 2010 for Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. The Knoxville Convention Center is the largest contributor of prepared food to the food bank. She has served on the board of the Greater Knoxville Tourism Alliance since 2007 and also currently serves on the University of Tennessee Culinary Arts Advisory Board.
She has been a member of Executive Women’s Association of Knoxville since 2008 and is currently a member of the University of Tennessee Chancellor’s Associates program. Bogert served as a member of the community advisory board for the Junior League of Knoxville from 2010 to 2014. Bogert is an advocate for education reform as the vice chair of Innovative Education Partnership, the nonprofit organization spearheading Clayton-Bradley STEM Academy, where she is also vice-chair. Bogert is a graduate of the Leadership Knoxville Class of 2011 and was recognized for her commitment to the community by the YWCA as a finalist in its 2012 Tribute to Women.
Originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, she attended the University of Alabama from 1985 to 1987, and is a graduate of the Atlanta College of Art, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1991.
Bogert is a member of the Knoxville Chamber Partnership, Knoxville Museum of Art and International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM).
Bogert and her husband, Scott, have two children, daughter Jaden and son Nicholas. The family lives in Maryville, Tennessee.
